Bug Description

Binary package hint: pan

Certain jpeg files fail to display. Instead the following message is displayed:

Attachment not shown: MIME type image/jpeg; filename 12.jpg

If memory serves me this was a bug way back before 14.2 stable release. Seem to recall this was caused by multipart jpeg files. Do remember there was a patch for this one. Did observe that single part jpegs do display and multpart jpegs do not.

Worked correctly in the 0.132 version on Jaunty.
Fails for the 0.133 version on Karmic.

Forgot to include, google search turn up this, which may or may not be related to the current problem. Patch suggested here is for a fairly old version of pan.

I can confirm this on a new install of AMD-64 Karmic.

If you choose to download the article attachments, then you can look at them - they just don't display within Pan.

It may be of interest that the same version of Pan on OpenSUSE11.2 AMD-64 works as it should.

The problem is not due to pan but rather to libgmime.

Using gmime 2.25, it works fine

Is it now working for all of you? Can you attach your files that not work? Thank you very much!

Maybe this is a duplicate of bug #465815?
