Bug Description

Binary package hint: libvisual-projectm

The libvisual plugin package of the popular ProjectM visualizer that's available in the repository does not work with the latest Ubuntu release, at least not with Totem.

After installing, the plugin should be available from the dropdown list of available visualizers in Totem like it has been in previous releases. That doesn't happen. While I am on Karmic, this problem affected me in Jaunty as well, and likely still affects that Ubuntu version.

I can confirm this, i am on 64bit karmic, all latest updates installed as of now!

the real issue appears to be that the gstreamer devs need to add support for this opengl plugin. which SHOULD be done by now as far as I understand but obviously is NOT =)

It looks like a patch was made about a year ago, but never got into any release...

Maybe we could include the patch downstream in the package if it does not get accepted upstream. I'll ask why the patch is not yet applied.
