The keyboard layout is OK (Suomi=Finnish) in the live enviroment I am writing this down.

OK, Colin, I filed a new Bug #539827. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I can confirm that this crash happens also in Spanish (and from a duplicate, also in Korean). I will attach my debug file, that contains the backtrace of this crash.

Can you please attach your debug log from the install attempt? If you have to run the install again to get it, can you do so in debug mode (`ubiquity -d` from a terminal window) and run `apport-collect 539463` when it crashes. That will give us a much more detailed log.

Sorry I am unable to give the debug log, because I don have that disk image of Kubuntu 10.04 daily live 2010-03-16 left.

So I tested the beta1 image:
kubuntu-10.04-beta1-desktop-i386.iso 18-Mar-2010 02:06 679M
and the installer (ubiquity) worked fine, without errors, with finnish settings.

So, I think, this case can, for now being, be concidered solved, if there are not similar problems left with other languages.

PS. The installer in todays(25.03.2010) Kubuntu-daily lacks user-setup and summary, so the installation is without any user and is unusable for unexperienced users. Also there is no control for grub-install.

This is still happening in Beta 2 candidate images (20100406)

The Problem still exists in kUbuntu 13.04!

Try to install with Swiss-German Keyboard (i.e. choose it at boot screen) and there's a "ubi-console-setup failed with exit code 141" after setting the timezone; later (after ignore) the installation completely fails.

And yes, I just correctly downloaded and burned a 64bit kUbuntu Desktop 13.04 image from kubuntu.org.
