Bug Description

i installed ubuntu for the first time this morning, however after running it from the hdd twice, it wouldnt boot up anymore and stopped with the error

sh/bin: Can't access tty; Job control turned off

tried to boot a few more times without any success.

so i eventually decided to boot from the cd again - which worked - and re-install, which caused this error:

I have encountered this twice installing on a DELL inspiron 9200 from CD 6.05 LTS. At about 99% completion I get a message saying there was a GRUB installation error. I choose to continue and seconds later get the crash error mentioned above.

-installing to USB drive, full formatting and partitioning

one thing i noticed:

"Stopping RAID monitoring service" keeps showing up as [fail]

not sure if that is connected to this issue, but i figured i'd add the info!
