Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Version 0.9.3.1-0ubuntu9
Queue a list of songs in Rhythmbox, without 'shuffle' being selected.
Choose the 'Queued songs' item on the left and you can see them in the order you added them.
Shutdown Rhythmbox.
Restart Rhythmbox. Choose 'Queued songs' and the order of the songs has changed.

I would expect this order to remain the same, unless the 'shuffle' option was selected.

Thanks for your bug. That works fine on my dapper installation. Does it happen every time? Is the order changed at every startup? Is it random? Did you click on any column to sort them? Does it depends of songs listed?

Just managed to get it to happen again.
I had to restart rhythmbox a couple of times. I had given up hope of being able to reproduce it, and started to enter a reply to that effect, opened it up again (so I'd left it for maybe 2-3 mins between closing and restarting) and it's scrambled the list.

I had seven songs from one album queued, added some more (24) from a different album to make it more obvious, then stopped/restarted about 3-4 times quickly. I then waited as mentioned above. The order is almost totally random now, except that all songs are still grouped by album. The original album is at the bottom (I don't think this always happens).

I'm fairly sure I've only seen this when I am part-way through listening to an album when stopping, and very sure it's only when songs from at least two albums are queued.

I haven't clicked any column to sort - I didn't know that worked in the Queued Songs view.

Any more questions? Anything else I can do to help track it down?

After restarting Ubuntu this morning, rhythmbox restarted with 18 tracks left from the 24 on the album added above (so it's just a single album at the moment), and the order has been scrambled again.

I've found some different behaviour that is related this morning.

I started rhythmbox, browsed through the library and added some tracks to the playlist. I then clicked on the playlist (for the first time since starting the program) and the new tracks weren't added to the end of the playlist.

It might be that rhythmbox is intermittently scrambling the display the first time that the playlist is displayed, rather than the underlying storage being the problem.

Let me know if I can provide any more info.

Now working OK in version 0.9.6 in Edgy.

How do I close a bug I've raised? Is there documentation for how to use Malone/Launchpad?
