Bug Description

Binary package hint: vino

After stopping vino-server uses 1 of my 2 cores completely. Attached you find a backtrace.

I just started vino-preferences and checked "Allow other users to view your desktop" (which then nearly freezes the window for some seconds. But this my be a different issue). Then I unticked it again to stop vino-server. Then it consumes one core entirely.

I also had this problem in 10.04 the first time I enabled remote desktop. vino-server was taking 98-99% of my CPU. I don't think it was triggered by disabling remote destop though. All I did was turn on remote desktop for the first time and this problem occurred. I noticed how slow my server had become, did a top and saw that vino-server was taking almost all the CPU. At that point, I disabled remote desktop - which didn't kill the process - so then I killed the process. When I re-enabled remote desktop, it was fine. I disabled and re-enabled a couple more times with no issues.

I've just had a similar problem in 10.10 (32 bits) but unlike what's was described in post #4 I couldn't manage stopping vino-server properly : each time I disabled remote desktop, vino-server took almost 100% of the cpu time and I had to kill it!
