Bug Description

Binary package hint: oggconvert

when I start oggconvert from the commandline, it says

"Old Schrödinger version found, please upgrade"

subsequently, I am not given the option to convert my files to Dirac.
Yes, all my packages, including gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad, are up to date ;-)

Thanx

Fixed in 0.3.2-4, just uploaded in Debian.
I'll merge oggconvert in Maverick as soon as development opens.

@ubuntu-sru: attached is a debdiff for lucid-proposed to restore Diract encoding for videos. It was merged in gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad from version 0.10.14, hence the adjusted version in schroedinger_version.patch.

Accepted into lucid-proposed, the package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!

Installed the fixed package from proposed.

Starting from terminal it says:

Schrödinger encoder found, using

Dirac is now choosable as output format and a testfile was converted correctly and without problems.

This bug was fixed in the package oggconvert - 0.3.2-4ubuntu1

---------------
oggconvert (0.3.2-4ubuntu1) maverick; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining Ubuntu changes:
    - Suggest gstreamer multiverse plugins.

oggconvert (0.3.2-4) unstable; urgency=low

  * Switch to format 3.0 (quilt).
  * debian/patches/schroedinger_version.patch:
    - Adjust schroedinger minimum version to match gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
      one to restore Dirac encoding (LP: #573603).
  * debian/control:
    - Drop gstreamer0.10-schroedinger from Suggests, it is part of
      gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad since 0.10.14 release.
    - Bump Standards-Version to 3.8.4, no changes needed.
