Bug Description

Binary package hint: tomboy

(Note: I first posted to bug #133656, but I was asked to fill a distinct bug)

WebDAV sync was working in Ubuntu 9.10 after installing wdfs manually. Now I just upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 and I completely lost the ability to sync via WebDAV, Tomboy giving the following messages:

Getting configuration from the GNOME keyring failed with the following message: The keyring daemon is not available
Saving configuration to the GNOME keyring failed with the following message: The keyring daemon is not available

While the keyring daemon seems to be up and running.

Work-arounds:

* Use Ubuntu One note sync instead.
* Use SSH note sync instead.
* Use wdfs to mount your webdav share somewhere, and use Local
Directory note sync and have it point at your webdav share. This is
exactly what the Tomboy add-in does, anyway.

Show stopper for me as well. Workarounds are appreciated, but kludgy.
Seems it's also being worked here:

With a couple updates but no fix yet.

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.

Changed in tomboy (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed

I made an ugly workaround patch for this issue.
It saves user/pass/url to tomboy config as a plaintext (yuck!) but working fine.
Feel free to modify it with any kind of encryption.
