Bug Description

DamnVid needs packaging for Ubuntu:
https://code.google.com/p/damnvid/

DamnVid is a cross-platform application to download and convert videos from your hard drive or from dozens of video sharing websites like YouTube, Dailymotion, Veoh, Metacafe, etc. Basically, it's a video downloader and converter that sucks less.

Damnvid currently depends on a unredistributable ffmpeg build, and thus cannot be included in Ubuntu. I have however found it to work fine with official ubuntu ffmpeg build and the correct codecs.
A working package can be found in the official damnvid ppa. To use:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:damnvid/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install damnvid
