Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I edit documents that are written in UK English. I have the en-us thesaurus package installed. If I set the document language to English (US) then I can use the thesaurus. If the language is set to English (UK) then the thesaurus is greyed out on the menu.

The cause of this appears to be that there is no symlink for en-gb under /usr/share/mythes and when the old /usr/share/myspell/dicts/info/ooo/* method was no longer used then it no longer shows up for en-gb users. I think this probbaly affects all OOo 3.0 and newer.

This should be fixed for 10.04.1.

Is there a temporary workaround I can use in the interim?

This bug was fixed in the package openoffice.org-dictionaries - 1:3.2.0~rc2-5ubuntu1

---------------
openoffice.org-dictionaries (1:3.2.0~rc2-5ubuntu1) maverick; urgency=low

  * Merge from debian unstable. (Closes LP: #587706) Remaining changes:
    - Add dependencies on language-support-writing-* packages.
      Closes LP: #537609
    - Fix the unversioned thunderbird entry in Conflicts for the hunspell-*
      packages.
    - define symlinks for the fr_FR dictionary too otherwise only the other
      variants are listed in GNOME dialogs
    - Refreshed: Add missing compat symlinks. Closes LP: #568760.
    - openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-us claims to provide en-gb but did not have
      a symlink. Closes LP: #578744
  * myspell-en-za fix in 1:3.2.0~rc2-5 closes LP: #467278.
