Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6-386

hi

# uname -a
Linux ubuntu 2.6.15-26-386 #1 PREEMPT Thu Aug 3 02:52:00 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux

I get at the wlan card WG311T from Netgear with madwifi driver the following errors:

ath0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:14:6C:31:2A:6D
          inet addr:192.168.210.20 Bcast:192.168.200.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::214:6cff:fe31:2a6d/64 Scope:Link
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:16548 errors:4953 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:2953
          TX packets:14926 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:200
          RX bytes:17923415 (17.0 MiB) TX bytes:2018431 (1.9 MiB)
          Interrupt:11 Memory:f8aa0000-f8ab0000

I don't have any errors on debian sarge or freeBSD installed on the same hardware.

I think, the problem is madwifi driver.

It looks like you may have pasted the wrong information; you sent only "ifconfig" output and not any errors.

I think he was refering to RX packets:16548 errors:4953 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:2953 which seems indeed unusual.
Been a long time, any news on Ubuntu 7.04 (or ideally on Gutsy Tribe-2 CD that can be found on:
http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/tribe2)?

A search for madwify returns lots of bugs.
I note bugs:
bug #37773
bug #69709
among others.
