Bug Description

There are some problems between the ubuntu package and the debian package; libmpcdec-dev has been merged into libmpc. We should have this updated package because some packages (e.g. bug #598184) FTBFS because of this outdated dependence.

I can't attach the right changelog, because there are problems between the two versions, here are the ubuntu changes:

libmpcdec (1:1.2.2-2.1ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * rebuild rest of main for armel armv7/thumb2 optimization;
    UbuntuSpec:mobile-lucid-arm-gcc-v7-thumb2
  * add Section: libs to control[.in] in order to fix ubuntu upload queue
    rejects.

and here's the changelog of the most recent debian version:

libmpc (2:0.1~r459-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream SVN snapshot.
  * debian/control,
    debian/compat,
    debian/source/format,
    debian/rules:
    + Update to source format 3.0 (quilt).
    + Update to debhelper compat level 7.
    + Update Standards-Version to 3.8.4.
  * debian/patches/01_am-maintainer-mode.patch:
    + Enable automake maintainer mode.
  * debian/patches/03_mpcchap.patch,
    debian/rules:
    + Enable mpcchap tool and build it against libcue.
  * debian/patches/99_autoreconf.patch:
    + Regenerate autotools files for the above patches.

libmpc has been removed from lucid as it was duplicating packages from libmpcdec.
Has Debian is going to release libmpcdec in Squeeze and deprecated libmpc, we should do the same, so the sync seems good.

Marking as affecting libmpc to have the opinion of a main sponsor.

Now libmpcdec has been removed from Ubuntu but libmpc still isn’t there.

an example how sync requests and promotions should not be done. this needs to be address for maverick.
