I am getting the same problem. Seems to be f-spot.org's problem or maybe the wrong url is being used. In any case the repository is inaccessible.

I also have an issue with F-Spot's add-in manager refreshing to an error related to the repo. Was looking to see what available extensions were out, but got the error message instead.

to reproduce:
in F-Spot 0.6.1.5,
edit, manage extensions, click install add-ins button, click the refresh button.

Done in a base model thinkpad t40 with fresh install of 10.04 LTS.

I rather suspect this is not going to get fixed; it has been outstanding for
so long for what would appear to be such a trivial fix; it's my guess that
f-spot is a cob-web, its developers moved on to more lucrative game or
departed from this world.

Indeed this has existed along with enough other bugs that have kept F-Spot from being of any use for some time. It's a complete failure on Ubuntu's part to even include this crap.
