Bug Description

Binary package hint: tumgreyspf

I just discovered this folder:

$ ls -lRa /home/tumgreyspf/
/home/tumgreyspf/:
total 24
drwxr-xr-x 2 tumgreyspf nogroup 4096 2010-07-21 12:18 .
drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 2010-07-21 12:18 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 tumgreyspf nogroup 220 2010-04-19 03:15 .bash_logout
-rw-r--r-- 1 tumgreyspf nogroup 3103 2010-04-19 03:15 .bashrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 tumgreyspf nogroup 179 2010-03-26 12:31 examples.desktop
-rw-r--r-- 1 tumgreyspf nogroup 675 2010-04-19 03:15 .profile

This is not good. Probably, tumgreyspf should be creating a system user with its home as /var/lib/tumgreyspf or similar.

Hi,

I have just uploaded a fix to this issue (and few others). It will be available soon in SID, then Ubuntu can sync it. Note that I now maintain all my packages using Git. For tumgreyspf, you can use: http://git.debian.org/git/users/zigo/tumgreyspf.git

This has been fixed in 1.35-7 in SID, which the release team is about to unblock so it goes in Squeeze. Please sync from SID.

This bug was fixed in the package tumgreyspf - 1.35-7

---------------
tumgreyspf (1.35-7) unstable; urgency=low

  * As discussed with the release team, the file /etc/cron.d/tumgreyspf is now
    deleted only if it matches the 1.35-2 MD5 sum.

tumgreyspf (1.35-6) unstable; urgency=low

  * Now creates the user in /var/lib/tumgreyspf and not in
    /var/lib/tumgreyspf/tumgreyspf like 1.35-5 was doing. The usermod call has
    also been corrected.

tumgreyspf (1.35-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * Added patch for debian/cron.daily so that the cron job doesn't spam the
    administrator if there's no mail traffic (Closes: #590492).
  * Added Vcs-Browser / Vcs-Git URLs.
  * Bumped Standard-Version.
  * Now using -r -b /var/lib/tumgreyspf to create the tumgreyspf user, and
    modifies an eventual old setup to this new value using the usermod with
    -d to setup the new home (LP: #610810).
