Uninstalling privoxy doesn't uninstall it!

Bug Description

Had privoxy installed, decided I no longer wished to use it so uninstalled it via Synaptic's "Mark for Complete Removal". Visiting a website later (http://www.boingboing.net) produced a section of the page that stated some content had been blocked by Privoxy.

From the command line, attempted to perform another uninstall of Privoxy using sudo apt-get --purge remove privoxy which reported that it wasn't installed!

I'll be honest, not sure if this is an apt issue or a privoxy issue, but thought it best to start here in the first instance.

System details :-
Ubuntu Dapper running Privoxy 3.03

Yes, even after restarting the whole machine.

Its fair to point out at this point that the machine has long since been upgraded to Kubuntu Feisty (Beta) and I no longer use Privoxy, but I'm more than happy to do some more testing under this environment if you want, although given the upgrades, I'm not sure how useful it would be to you.

Apologies for the delay in coming back on this

Reinstalled , tested, removed and retested on Kubuntu 7.04 (final). Everything works fine as expected.

Thanks.
