Bug Description

Draper64 works great but durring a clean install of edgy64 or doing an upgrade from draper64 to edgy64 I get errors so there is a differance between the 2 that is causing these errors. I have the following system specs:

Motherboard: MSI K8N NEO SLI
CPU: AMD Athlon 64, 2200 MHz (11 x 200) 3500+
Memory 1024 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)

Durring the Install/upgrade I get the following:

Booting to Kernal

Then I get a light green border and at the same time I get a constant mother board error beep (very anoying to say the least)

Then inside the light grean box I get the following:

[ 27.6105] ACPI: Getting cpuindex for acpiid 0x1
[ 33.947577] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[ 33.216878] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[ 33.500686] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/64, error -71
[ 33.680565] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/64, error -32
[ 34.100286] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/8, error -71
[ 34.220455] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/8, error -71
[ 34.436060] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/8, error -71
[ 34.555980] usb 2-1.4: device descriptor read/8, error -71

It sits here for about 2 minutes still beeping with normal hard drive activity

Then the errors in the box disapears, then shortly after that the green box disapears.

At this point it seems to go back to normal funtion with the following:

* Activating swap
* checking root file system
etc
etc
etc

From here I then get the login and then the desktop which seems to function normally but the MB beep is still going constanly and is very anoying

I'll be honest I'm a little new at Linux so I'm not sure. It's whatever
comes with edgy. I have not made any changes, just trying to install the
distro that I downloaded from ubuntu.com

I did find that if I disconnect my card reader all of the usb errors went away. But I still had the ACPI error and the constant beeping. Please note I did not get any usb errors under the 6.06 draper release so it is something to do with the 6.10 edgy release.

For more info on my card reader it is the KOUTECH SYSTEMS 6-in-1 card reader. It can be found at:

Just a quick note, I am not the only person with this problem. There is a thread on the forums discussing this at:
