I get the same error doing this thing:
 - Open Rhythmbox trough sound menu
 - start playing a song
 - hide the windows using close button
 - Rhythmbox is closed, it stops playing songs and I get that error from sound indicator.

What can also cause the crash is after hiding rhythmbox using the X button, then opening it from sound preferences and using Ctrl+q - rhythmbox then quits as expected (?), but the sound indicator crashes.

I saw the issue while upgrading to the latest version of the indicator, probably while the old service was still running.
I haven't been able to reproduce the issue after the upgrade.

After the new update of this morning after opening Rhythmbox and closing it with ctrl+Q, I still get this kind of error and sound indicator looks like this (look at screenshot, please).

Thanks for all,

THIS WAS NOT ON VIRTUALBOX!
It happened to me on fresh install of the alpha 3, upgraded to beta.
No library, just opened program to see how nice controls appear in sound notification area, but then on closing rhythmbox, message appeared

Thanks for reporting this. Can anyone confirm that this is reproducible normally (i.e. not straight after an update/upgrade). Please reboot after updating just in case its a service/indicator issue.

I cannot reproduce this here.

Hi Conor,
I just rebooted. Opened rhythmbox, minimized it to tray by clicking 'x', clicked it from the me menu and received the same error. I have now have multiple entries in my menu for rhythmbox and no controls.
