Bug Description

When I plug in my Samsung i500 palmphone (PalmOS4) under Edgy, and try to sync, I usually get no visible response. Checking dmesg, I see the message "Device lied about number of ports, please use a lower one" repeated many times. I have managed to get about 3 syncs out of (large number). Sometimes, it will also dump weird messages to a terminal, and then my keyboard becomes useless without a reboot. The palmphone works fine under a certain other OS.

thank you for your bug report. I'm assigning this to linux-source due to the hard lock report.

Hardy Heron 8.04 was recently released. It would be helpful if you could test the new release and verify if this is still an issue - http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . You should be able to test your bug using the LiveCD. Please let us know your results. Thanks.
