Testing Kubuntu Maverick adm64 RC candidate image.

Using a KVM with 800MB memory.

I had the same experience with the desktop i386 iso.
Also noticed that the background was brownish instead of blue
and had ksplashx crash on first start.

For me starting kvm with the "-vga vmware" flag fixed all of these symptoms.

Indeed, posting this from rekonq inside kvm.

I'd blame this on the virtualization technology, especially since the crash is occurring in a rather innocuous function deep inside Qt. (The other problems experienced seem indicative of this, too.)
