You can close the u-m task if you wish. I've added it because the upgrade failed so badly.
Since the error is in a preinst, the package is half-installed, and at the end of the upgrade, update-manager just stops saying it can't continue because of the error, no rollback, no cleanup, leaving the system in an inconsistent state.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-keyring - 2.92.92.is.2.31.91-0ubuntu3

pliut, I can't reproduce the error on the exact same system this error existed initially. If you have a similar problem then please attach the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade.

FYI, I ran a successful upgrade since the fix was released - the fix obviously didn't make it into the release candidate .iso, so running the upgrade from RC alternate cd (using cdromupgrade) gives the same gnome keyring error, however allowing cdromupgrade to pull the latest packages from the net succeeds.

I should add that this was a wubi upgrade... and the wubi failed to start following the upgrade (rebooted without showing any error messages or grub menu). I am considering this to be unrelated since my previous upgrade of wubi that showed the gnome-keyring error and specifically stated that the upgrade failed. My latest one with the fix completed successfully, so my problem is likely a separate grub-pc issue related to wubi. I'll run some more tests later to confirm.

I'm closing the update-manager task because it's not related to the boot failure.

I attach this file now, because inside the folder you have asked me there are a lot of files,..whic do you need exactly to reproduce the error?
I can not upgrade ubuntu-sso-client_1.0.3-0ubuntu1_too, is this related to #651325 bug?
