Bug Description

Binary package hint: mixxx

From James Kittsmiller:

"I'm using the latest version of Mixxx in the repo's for ubuntu 10.10 and the shade skins display with the wrong colours in play lists, I fixed it by over writing them with the ones downloaded from the Mixxx forums,You may need to check and repack all the skins.."
Posted here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mixxx/+bug/645804

We have a new source tarball that addresses this issue specifically for Debian/Ubuntu:
http://downloads.mixxx.org/mixxx-1.8.0/mixxx-1.8.0.2-src.tar.gz

(We had two workarounds that ended up clashing. The default skin is fine thank to 1.8.0.1 that was granted a FFe, but it looks like some of the extra skins had problems with the workaround.)

Hi Albert!

Could you prepare a patch against the current version available in Maverick (1.8.0.1-1ubuntu1)?

This bug was fixed in the package mixxx - 1.8.1-1ubuntu1

---------------
mixxx (1.8.1-1ubuntu1) natty; urgency=low

  * Merge with Debian experimental, Ubuntu remaining changes:
    - Add libqtwebkit-dev to the Build-Depends field.
    - Depends on pulseaudio-utils.
    - Skip 91-desktop_file.patch.

Hi Alessio,

I'm not sure how best to address this. We just released version 1.8.1, which is a pure bugfix release.

We've fixed 11 bugs (https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+milestone/1.8.1), including 1 segfault fix and 1 critical performance improvement which has improved Mixxx's performance drastically on all our platforms. Additionally Rhythmbox integration was broken on Ubuntu 10.10 due to a Rhythmbox on-disk library format upgrade. We have fixed that as well.

Might it make sense for us to upload a 1.8.1 package instead of fixing this specifically?

We have to manage an SRU [1], BTW a backport of the current stable
release from Natty would help our users.
