Bug Description

Where: Installer of Kubuntu 6.10 RC1 - Desktop CD

I have installed Kubuntu on a 12 partitons HDD, many of the partitions with important data - I have chosen "Manual Paritioning"

The windows with "Analyzing /dev/sdaX..." (not sure I remember well) really made me shiver. The whole analizing & reanalyzing process is really really confusing - it was really really frustrating not to know what is *going to happen* - I kept seeing the installer analyzing the data partitions - which it shouldn't even touch IMO, thinking of what his plans are.

Current behaviour: a small window with a text centered in it which kept changing (and cycling through the same steps if I remember well)

Desired behaviour: a window with some tics/bullets on a side, describing the steps current process (formatting, etc.) properly - this goes especially for the partitioning part, where the installer window got frozen and the focus moved to the mini-status-window which pops in the center of the screen.
