Hi, thanks for reporting this bug. Is there a procedure for reproducing that situation? Is it a specific issue that resolved itself after some upgrades, or is it consistently reproducible?

It's consistently reproducible on my up to dated system. It often occurs when opening a application (like Evolution) and closing it. The entry of the already closed window stills on the indicator area. When I open another Evolution's window, a new entry is created.

On my computer, I just have to log on on my favorite Desktop, the menu usually appears like int should be. I then launch say evolution, and the menus are then duplicated.
After that, if I close evolution, the little arrow on the left still appears as if evolution wasn't closed and this menu is useless, I have to use the second one to start evolution again. Now a when evolution is closed a second time this start all over again.
Same problem with the chat (empathy) .

Just fresh booted my up to date Natty : only gwibber is show twice (service is launched at boot). If I launch Empathy, it duplicates, creating an indicator entry which is working, and one not working. The same behaviour applies to Evolution.
Closing any of those 3 services doesn't "clear" the indicator, double entries remain.
