Bug Description

Binary package hint: wdm

This problem seems to be platform independant, as it has been exhibited on a 233MHz G3 iMac as well as a 4GHz P4 dell. The options, other than Login, do not work even if a Login name and Password are given.

[edit]
this reference helped me with a temp fix:
http://lists.lrn.ru/pipermail/wdm/2004-September/000162.html

this is not a real fix, as it alows unpriveladged users to shutdown or reboot the machine, but anyway:

edit the file: /etc/X11/wdm/wdm-config
change line:
DisplayManager*wdmRoot: true
to be:
DisplayManager*wdmRoot: false
