Maybe you could get a backtrace with a debug build of libexif or attach a version of the crash report with coredump?

Hi Pablo.
The version of Ubuntu that you were using has reached its End Of Life. It is unlikely that this bug persists after 3 years and 6 Gnome releases.
Please test the latest Ubuntu version (9.10 or 10.04) and report a new bug if necessary.
