Bug Description

Binary package hint: acroread

When using the old acroread ( http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/pool/partner/a/acroread/acroread_9.4-1maverick1_amd64.deb ) flash movies play in the reader just fine. However, using the new reader ( http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu/pool/partner/a/acroread/acroread_9.4.2-0maverick1_amd64.deb ) navigating to any page with embedded flash movies causes an error dialog stating "3D data parsing error has occurred". This issue was tested on Ubuntu 10.10, both versions of the reader loaded from the official partner repository.

This feature is absolutely critical for the Linux version of the reader as none of the other methods for embedding videos in PDFs work in the Adobe Reader for Linux. If necessary I can provide an example LaTeX file, video, and resulting PDF to reproduce this problem.

Hi, a new acroread release (0.9.4) is available for update, could you give it a try and tell us if the problem persists?
If you still have this bug please set back the status to "new"
thanks
