Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfce4-volumed

This happens every startup:
xfce4-volumed[1884] trap divide error ip:7f6c3a668460 sp:7fff935f2148 error:0 in xfce4-volumed[7f6c3a665000+6000]

I strongly believe that this is due to my ATI HDMI audio device having no volume control. As far as I can see the program trips in xvd_calculate_avg_volume (in xvd_mixer.c) where there is a possible division by zero if num_channels is zero.

This has been fixed in xfce4-volumed 0.1.12 - can this package be included for natty (or the fix backported)?

As discussed on IRC, this is the only change in 0.1.12, so I'll upload it (0.1.13 is also out, but there are more commits, so it'll wait for natty+1).

Changed in xfce4-volumed (Ubuntu):
status: New → In Progress
importance: Undecided → Low
