PDO support installation fails with insufficient memory error

Binary package hint: php5-dev

I am unable to install PDO support or any PDO drivers in PHP5.1.6 though PECL. Doing a "pecl install PDO" or a "pecl install PDO_PGSQL" compiles the PDO module, but when it goes to actually install it, PHP gives complains the 8M limit for scripts is exhausted (with ridiculously small memory amounts left to allocate) even though I've set the memory_limit var to 64 megs in the php.ini files for both the CLI and the Apache module versions of PHP...

This is with regards to the version of PHP that comes with Edgy, not Feisty. Can anyone responsible here fix this? (It's the first bug I report, sorry)

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, you are not using the most recent version of this package for your Ubuntu release. Please upgrade to the most recent version and let us know if you are still having this issue.
