Bug Description

Binary package hint: virtualbox

Virtualbox will not use the VT-x processor feature because it believes the kernel version to be too old. This is because it does not properly parse the new 3.x kernel version strings.

Function is called "suplibOsQueryVTxSupported" on line 257 of
src/VBox/HostDrivers/Support/linux/SUPLib-linux.cpp

This is confirmed in Oneiric.
The following line is displayed in the logs
00:00:00.660 HWACCM: The host kernel does not support VT-x -- Linux 2.6.13 or newer required!

but kernel identified by VirtualBox is
00:00:00.450 OS Release: 3.0-1-generic

According to a comment upstream, it is fixed in SVN and will be included in the next maintenance release (4.0.10?).

Hopefully this should be out in time to make it into Oneiric without any extra work.
