Bug Description

The applet appears, but doesn't react to mouse clicks. Configuring it through the bar's properties dialog doesn't fix it. As a work around I installed the gnome timer applet via xfapplet.

Could you explain in more detail please. I have been using this timer for many years, and it still works in Natty for me. I do not understand what you mean by "doesn't react to mouse clicks", since mouse clicking is how I set the times in it, start the timer, and stop the timer.

After adding the timer applet, a small rectangular space appears (see attachment). After that, it justs sits there and occupies space without showing any reaction to clicking (either left or right button). Thus it is totally unusable and I'm not even sure what to expect. No menu ever pops up.

I can bring up some configuration dialog from the menu bar's main configuration window, when selecting the applets configuration there. In this dialog i can setup the timers, but still the applet itself doesn't react to anything.

I hope that was somehow comprehensible.

Try clicking, right-click or left-click just to the right of that. On my panel, there is a small space between that icon and the items to the right. That space is where I click to do things to the timer. In previous versions, I could click the bar itself, but that no longer has any effect. I suppose that is why I think it works, but I guess it is hidden if you have used the timer before.

I will confirm this issue, too. It really should work to click directly on the icon, instead of alongside it.

Indeed that is the issue. What's the purpose of the icon itself, if it doesn't change and cannot be clicked?

Thanks for the help!

Well, using some shorter time intervall I could finally see the bar grow to indicate the time which has already passed. I second, that the bar itself should be clickable as well.
