Bug Description

After booting the live CD and selecting "Try Ubuntu" I am switched to a console while the X server is restarted, it contains many boot messages that are not of interest to the end-user. As far as I understand, the X server has to be restarted, but as mentioned in bug 813065, the console should probably be cleared first to provide a smoother end-user experience.

Whereas bug 813065 is specific to Intel video cards, and appears fixed, this bug here is specific to Nvidia video cards.

If I understood stgraber correctly, the fix for bug 813065 is intended for Intel cards and he suggested submitting a new report for Nvidia. Feel free to mark this as a duplicate if stgraber agrees.

bug 813065 was for ubiquity-dm not doing the right thing on exit and making the screen flicker (for any driver).
This got fixed by Steve and if I remember well tested on Intel.

This bug seem like an nvidia/nouveau specific flicker bug, would probably be good to have Steve's opinion on this one.
