shading test case

The attached shading is not rendered by the cairo backend. It works fine with splash.

This has been originally reported by danucc in the Ubuntu bug tracker:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/878715

The content of the file linked at the Ubuntu bug report[1] are not shown, only header and footer are.

The file can be displayed with xpdf and acroread but fails to show with evince and epdfview using poppler 0.18 in Ubuntu 11.10, 12.04 and Fedora 16.

On the command line, the message "Error: Invalid Font Weight" is printed, hence it may well be a "bad" PDF file -- though xpdf and acroread seem to handle the situation more gracefully.

Thank you for your bug report. I can confirm the problem with Ubuntu 12.04, both with evince (the standard document viewer) and with epdfview which suggests that the issue is in the underlying library called poppler. I have reported the bug to the developers of the software, you can track it and make comments at: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45093

This bug was fixed in the package poppler - 0.18.4-0ubuntu1

---------------
poppler (0.18.4-0ubuntu1) precise; urgency=low

  * New upstream version:
    - "evince displays the included PDF without rotation" (lp: #711300)
    - Contents of the page is not displayed while it is OK
      with xpdf or acroread (lp: #878715)
  * debian/control:
    - libpoppler-glib-dev shouldn't depends on libgtk-dev, it stopped using
      gdk and uses cairo directly (lp: #870662)
