Bug Description

For example I have:

Computer
 * Home
 * Scrivania (Desktop)
 * Documenti (Documents)
 * Scaricati (Downloads)
 * Musica (Music)
 * Immagini (Pictures)
 * Video
 * File System
 * Cestino (Trash)
(I attached a screenshot just in case)

I agree that home, desktop sould float to the top and that Filesystem and Trash should stay at bottom, but seams like the other rows should be in alphabetical order

The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Confirmed but I'm not sure if the order is meant to be alphabetical or logical

We will probably not upgrade to the new serie this cycle since we aim at stabilization for the lts but that fixes will likely be a good candidate to backport to our version

This bug was fixed in the package nautilus - 1:3.2.1-0ubuntu5

---------------
nautilus (1:3.2.1-0ubuntu5) precise; urgency=low

  [ Didier Roche ]
  * debian/nautilus-home.desktop:
    - support drag and drop of a file in the launcher item to launch nautilus
      in the corresponding directory

  [ Sebastien Bacher ]
  * debian/control.in:
    - updated the dpkg build-depends for the maintscript use
    - use Pre-Depends: ${misc:Pre-Depends} (lp: #898712)
  * debian/nautilus.maintscript:
    - use a maintscript to handle old conffile cleaning, it's easier
  * debian/patches/git_sideplace_sorting.patch:
    - backport git commit to sort the places entries by alphabetic order
      rather than coding the list in english order (lp: #892746)
