Since upgrading to oneiric I am not unable to open any of my old diagrams with layers, randomly. If they do open properly, then i cannot change anything. The default layer will work but when I change layers and try change anything nothing happens. If I then change layers back again then suddenly the thing I tried to change updates.

Please I use this app every day for work and has actually been one of the most stable applications I have ever used in Linux. It's quite disappointing that it's broken now for the first time ever.

The layer behavior here (when starting a new project):

- Opening the layer dialog
- Draw something: It works (and displays at once)
- Adding a layer
- drawing does not display anything
- close the layer window -> drawn items appear

it is possible to draw using different layers when I close the layer window as after switching to the layer I want to draw on.

As long as the layer window is shown, things do not display after drawing.

Temporary solution (see bugreport on gnome.org) is to close layers window.

Bug also present when using Xfce 4.8 with Ubuntu 11.10.
Temporary solution works, but is very unsatisfactory.

I can confirm that with Ubuntu 12.04, Dia 0.97.2-5 the bug is no longer present.
In fact the window layout is considerably different with this version of Dia, the tool kit and layers box are no longer free floating separate items, but rather all part of one single window.

This bug can be marked as closed.

Changed in dia (Ubuntu):
status: Confirmed → Fix Released
