live cd not openable in file browser

Bug Description

 - herd-5/feisty-desktop-i386.iso
 - booted from it (first item in boot menu, all default options)

 - on the desktop, I clicked menu Places / Computer
 - in the windows "Computer - File Browser" I try to open the drive icon titled "CD-RW/DVD+RW Drive" by double clicking it

I get a a dialog with no windows title, saying that there is probably no medium insterd (will post detailed dialog contents in a minute).

Off course the CD is inserted.

There is probably no media in the drive.

I face the same problem!!!!!!!!! Please confirm this bug and send a fix quickly!!!!!!!

Please send a fix for it...it's very irritating, it won't accept ANY CD that I insert. The same message that David Balazic has posted appears when I click on CD-RW drive in Computer.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The Ubuntu Live CD is designed to be a "live filesystem" and does not appear as a CD when you have booted from it; this is normal. Once you have installed Ubuntu and are booted from the hard drive, you will be able to use your CD drive normally again.

Can we hope for a more meaningful error message at least ?
