Bug Description

I'm performing iso-testing on the Beta 1 candidates, specifically 'Ubuntu 12.04 LTS _Precise Pangolin_ - Beta i386 (20120228.1)', and when testing on my old VIA C7 w/ P4M800 which forces unity-2d I notice that the launcher still auto-hides. This occurs both from the live DE and a freshly installed DE.

However when I go to sys settings > appearance > behavior I see that auto-hide is set to off. But if I switch auto-hide to on, then switch it back to off the behavior is as expected, and on an installed DE that behavior is then retained.

I don't see this testing on 3d capable hardware with the standard unity DE.

I'd think this is very low priority, not worth a rebuild for Beta 1, but that's not my decision.

Must say I love the most recent changes ................... simply beautiful.

This is the result of the CD user having the value saved (overridden) in his dconf database (AFAIU there shouldn't be a "~/.config/dconf/user" file on the CD at all.

Michal,

I'd also point out though that the installed OS does the same thing on initial boot, but if you once go to sys settings > appearance > behavior, click on, and then click off again the behavior is correct and remains correct thereafter.

Yes, it's all with the user's env not respecting the defaults.
