Bug Description

the slideshow for the Desktop installations of Lubuntu still steers users to Tomboy. It has been dropped from the default and is fairly bloated (30MB), not to mention the other disadvantages that come with that particular software's dependencies.

It would be better for us to mention Gnote instead which is much smaller at 16MB or even Zim, which weighs in at 4MB. Basket and Knotes should be out of the question because of the heavy KDE dependencies. Ubuntu has moved beyond Tomboy and so should Lubuntu.

There's more text out of date. The slideshow starts out with "Thank you for choosing Lubuntu 12.04" instead of "Thank you for choosing Lubuntu 12.10"

Thank you for reporting this Lars, I'm already working on the slides for Lubuntu 12.10 and have made sure this is fixed.

There's actually nothing about Xpad in the new slides, nor any other note-application. But I'm marking this as 'Fix Commited' as I've taken Lars' suggestion of mentioning applications that are suitable for Lubuntu and I've also updated the outdated (12.04) texts.

I noticed that these changes have not made it into the 2012-08-01 desktop image for AMD64+mac. When should we look for the changes to be deployed?

I have no idea to be honest, but possibly in the beta stage as the slideshow isn't very crucial.
