Bug Description

Installed MAAS following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/MAAS and couldn't get PXE to obtain DHCP addresses.
Noticed /etc/dnsmasq.conf had the default values rather than the values specified during installation.
Uninstalled and reinstalled maas-dhcp hoping to go through the config again but it didn't prompt for addresses.
Manually added my network settings and all is well.

This bug was fixed in the package maas - 0.1+bzr415+dfsg-0ubuntu2

---------------
maas (0.1+bzr415+dfsg-0ubuntu2) precise; urgency=low

  * debian/maas-dhcp.{config,postinst}:
    - Fix not setting new values on fresh install. (LP: #975321)
    - Fix unsetting domain, otherwise, even if disabled, it will always be set.
  * debian/control: Depends on maas for maas-dhcp.

Problem still exists in 12.04 final. Running dpkg-reconfigure does not solve the problem.
Found the settings in /etc/cobbler/dnsmasq.template. Moved the file to /etc/dnsmasq.d/ but now dnsmasq service fails to start.

Think I am copying the /etc/dnsmasq.conf file to /etc/dnsmasq.d/ and updating it manually ...

Hi Erwin,

After running dpkg-reconfigure maas-dhcp you need to run maas-import-isos to update all the necessary files.

Doing so will *automatically* generate /etc/dnsmasq.conf so you do *not* need to move files anywhere. The reason why it is failing is because you are copying the template file, which is a template and does not contain the correct files.

Hope this information helps!

Cheers.
