Bug Description

#### SRU Justification ###

[Impact]
emesene's Messaging Menu support is broken for all users that don't have python-indicate installed independently.

[Development Fix]
Fixed in quantal in 2.12.3+dfsg-1ubuntu2

[Stable Fix]
Add recommends on python-indicate

[Test Case]
Install from precise, unless you have python-indicate installed for another reason,
emesene's Messaging Menu support won't work.

With the version in precise-proposed, it should show in the Messaging Menu.

[Regression Potential]
The potential for regression is extremely low. It is simply adding a Recommends.

#######

Add this dependency to emesene or indicator-status-provider-emesene.

Emesene without python-indicate does not work in MeMenu

zipatei,

Can you check if 'indicator-status-provider-emesene' is installed by running the following command:

dpkg -s indicator-status-provider-emesene | grep Version

If there is no output, then it's not installed. Also, I'm not sure if it the dependency should be added to indicator-status-provider-emesene or emesene.

kroq-gar78,

My cousin had everything installed, except package python-indicate and couldn't put emesene in me-menu.

Recently, there was more of a user's blog emesene with the same problem, and install python-indicate, solved the problem: http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=28704147&postID=5778733982364322722

If you know another way to fix this problem, i think emesene developers are receptive.

Thanks

Bilal,

Since you marked it as invalid as affecting "indicator-messages", should "emesene" itself instead depend on it?

no longer affects: indicator-messages (Ubuntu)

Hello André, or anyone else affected,

Accepted emesene into precise-proposed. The package will build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback here. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Thank you in advance!
