Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

Not really an advanced bug, I forgot to close Synaptic prior to doing the dist-upgrade. But maybe it is a good idea if the update-manager checks if there is another update-program/synaptic running?

ProblemType: Package
Date: Sat Mar 31 11:06:48 2007
ErrorMessage: ErrorMessage: SystemError in cache.commit(): installArchives() failed

Package: update-manager
SourcePackage: update-manager

Thanks for helping us make Ubuntu better by reporting bugs.
However, starting Synaptic on 7.10, and then launching 'update-manager --dist-upgrade' I get a window saying Unable to get exclusive lock with a suggestion that a package manager is already running.
So it seems fixed now, so I am closing this bug (with Invalid state).
Please feel free to reopen if you think it should.
