Bug Description

* The Update Manager popped up in the Dock automatically, while I was doing other work.
* I did not immediately click on it but rather about 30 minutes later (maybe more).
* Clicking on the icon does nothing, the window doesn't come up.

I *can* right click the icon and choose 'Install All Available Updates' and it will work. I don't know if a window should come up, it only shows the progress inside the Dock.

This bug happens every time, unless I click the icon immediately after it pops up in the Dock.

Some problem but in my case with a freshly installed Ubuntu 12.04 using default Unity. When I click the update manager icon, nothing happens. If I right-click and select "Update manager" again nothing happens. I can however select "Install all available updates" but this does not alllow me to see what is actually updated.

Some more information.

I could not start the update manager from Dash either. If I clicked the update manager from Dash, nothing happened.

update-manager was actually somewhere in the background:

$ sudo ps aux | grep update
martijn 2844 0.0 0.0 403288 13512 ? Sl Jun14 0:01 update-notifier
martijn 11622 0.0 0.8 761848 131560 ? SNl 07:58 0:04 /usr/bin/python /usr/bin/update-manager --no-focus-on-map

After killing the update-manager process I was able to start the update manager from Dash.
