Bug Description

Since upgrading from 11.10 to 12.04, The Wine Application Icon on the Unity Launcher does not always appear, I have tried installing wine 1.5, to not difference, and 1.3, to no avail either.

It happens quite often so if you need any logs/config files I'll get them done for you.

This is one of several bugs relating to windows missing from the launcher (and Alt-Tab switcher). I hope they all turn out to be the same bug.

A work around (of sorts) for this is to use Unity-2D

While there is a work around (of sorts for this) perhaps its importance should be low priority - especially when put into context with the most critical bugs where there is no workaround whatsoever,

Yeah, I had to resort to that. Pity they want to delete it, next version
this won't be available.

Not using Unity (or using Unity-2d) is not a workaround. How can you wirte things like that?

I've found a better workaround - because using the Unity 2D which will be
depreciated isn't acceptable - super + W, the scale plugin of Compiz, does
not suffer from this failure.

I'm also unable to reproduce this with Precise with all of the latest updates. Could anyone who is affected by this still running Precise try this?
