The argparse module is an improved and expanded argument parsing module for Python. It has been accepted for inclusion in Python's standard library for Python 2.7 and 3.2 and is available as a separate package for Python's back to 2.4.

Development of argparse happens at http://code.google.com/p/argparse/ so this is just an import of those artifacts. Steven Bethard, not me, is the author of argparse.
