Baltix "Sarge" serie is based on Debian 3.1 and introduces a number of new LiveCD startup, desktop and installation features, like hardware detection and auto-installation technology (based on Debian-installer) stolen from Ubuntu 5.04 "Hoary", etc.

Baltix GNU/Linux operating system's "Sarge" serie is the latest, based on Debian distribution, version 3.1 Newer Baltix releases are based on (and are 100% compatible with) Ubuntu. Lots of new desktop, installation and LiveCD features were introduced in this version, like completely new Live CD startup, hardware detection and auto-installation technology (based on Debian-installer components) stolen from Ubuntu 5.04 "Hoary" (older Baltix versions use Morphix-Knoppix LiveCD startup scripts), which allows installation of Baltix 0.8 and 1.x versions in terminal and graphical modes, etc.

Baltix based on Debian 3.1 "Sarge" has no packages recorded in Launchpad.
