Bobcat is a compiler that transforms Bobcat documents, given as a text file, to various output formats such as PDF, ODT, HTML, RTF etc.

It is intended to be a simple-to-use alternative to the LaTeX markup language. A Bobcat document is a text file with all elements needed for demanding scientific publications such as papers, theses, and the like. In contrast to LaTeX, its syntax is strictly specified.

At the moment, the project is in the planning phase, so co-developers are not yet needed. I hope to get soon to a level when others can contribute without getting in the way of each other. Comments on the syntax specification are already welcomed, though.

The provisional project logo was derived from a picture by Bernard Landgraf and is published under the terms of the GFDL.
