Bug Description
In Essex, a security group with a description of "ports 22 & 80" causes instances to become unreachable with SSH (PuTTY). The security group used specifically opens port 22. Deleting the security group and recreating it with a description of "ports 22 AND 80" fixed the problem.

This sounds like an entirely nova-related issue, so I'm going to detach the glance aspect.
