Bug Description

When clicking on File, New, Templates and Docments generates an error message that says error creating document /home/steve/Documents/Documents instead of /home/steve/Documents

I have deleted the config directory for libreoffice in /home/.config/libreoffice and rebooted the machine and I still get the same message.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1007189/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Steve Sauls, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

Cant reproduce that here on 3.5.3-0ubuntu1
1) Start LibreOffice
2) Menu File->New->Templates and Documents
3) Open Presentations Folder
4) Select "Recommandation of a Strategy"
5) Menu File->Save As

as expected, tries to save to ~/Documents.

Did you (or your administrator) set the LibreOffice work directory to ~/Documents maybe?

Mine works as you described above but it fails when you do the following.
Please verify this sequence for me to see if we have a bug or something wrong on my system.

1) Start LibreOffice
2) Menu File->New->Templates and Documents
3) My Documents

Here I get the following

error creating document /home/steve/Documents/Documents instead of /home/steve/Documents

Attaching screenshot.

I can confirm that by reloading the OS and performing updates and then testing before doing anything else on the system that this is a bug.
