Bug Description
Scenario:
Openstack essex
I begin with a running instance with NO drives attached to it.
Defect1:
Using the Dashboard, I attach a volume as /dev/vdd to the instance. Fdisk –l reports a disk on /dev/vdc and nothing on /dev/vdd. Dashboard should at least report an error that you are trying to do an invalid drive mapping.
Observation:
As far as the dashboard goes, it correctly reports the volume is attached as /dev/vdd. This can be seen in a) volume detail, b) Instance detail, c) Manage Volume Attachments – edit attachments if you will.
I have not tested this with nova-manage.
