Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. I have a few questions:

1) Does the issue occur also in Nuvola Player 2.0 Beta 2?
2) Does the issue occur also with other services than Pandora?
3) Does the issue occur when playback is paused?

2) Does the issue occur also with other services than Pandora?
3) Does the issue occur when playback is paused? You attached debug
output, but I still need yes/no answer. Thanks.

Thanks. Does the issue happen also if you have all extensions turned
off in the Preferences dialog?

What's status of the window when you press close? Is it hidden or
visible? Is it frozen (doesn't react to user actions)?

Could you also open GNOME System Monitor (command
`gnome-system-monitor`) and check, whether there is a sudden increase
of CPU activity in the tab Resources, when you press close button of
Nuvola Player?

Still happens even with all the extensions off

A window saying "force quit" and not responding, frozen.

My first CPU out of 2 would be maxed 100% but not the second one

Adam, could you check whether this bug is reproducible on your machine?

I can reproduce this problem. The Quit menu item works, but not the close button. I will investigate further.

Thanks, Adam. It's valuable information. I'll take a look at code that
is specific for the close button then.

Well, the queue was pretty long because of some Launchpad issues, but the package has been finally built. It's revision 510.

Nuvola Player 2.0 Beta 3 just landed to Beta Builds PPA [1]. Could you please check whether the bug persists?

This bug is currently a blocker for stable release, so if I don't get a confirmation from the bug reporter, Pandora integration won't be installed by default. It will be available as a package at Nuvola Player website though.

I tried upgrading to the 2.0 Beta 3 release, but what I end up with has a 1.1 version number. Further, the proxy settings don't seem to work properly in this version, so I'm unable to test any Pandora functionality.

Packages for Ubuntu 11.10 were downgraded because of a few issues with
its glib and libwebkitgtk3. Any chance you could install Ubuntu 12.04
(e.g. in VirtualBox)?

Did you use SOCKS proxy before?

I see. I'll see if I can get someone else with 12.04 to test it for me.

Yes, I've successfully used a SOCKS proxy for Pandora in the past.
This seems like a regression. I can try to reproduce with debug output
on and file a bug.

Support for SOCKS proxy was removed in beta 3, but will be
reintroduced in beta 4. It's already available in unstable builds.

I had this issue using Beta 3, after upgrading to Beta 4 it appears to be resolved.

Interestingly after quitting with the close button it would crash on next launch, tried this several times and it was reproducible. However, after quitting through the menu as indicated in a previous comment it no longer crashes on relaunch regardless of the method used to quit. I can't explain the behavior, it seems inconsistent, but I am glad everything is working now.

Glad to hear that. I'll close this bug report then.

Did Nuvola Player really crash (ie. main window was shown and then
suddenly disappeared, possibly with error message in terminal) or did
it just show crash dialog and then the main window and it didn't
disappear?

Debug logs could help to explain this behavior ;-) If the issue will
appear again, don't hesitate to create a new bug report with logs.

I had a friend test this on Ubuntu 12.04. The behavior we saw is that Nuvola closes, but segfaults immediately when the close button is used. This might be related to what Morgen is seeing.

I would very appreciate if the friend could provide a debug output and
backtrace as described at [1].

I believe this bug is caused by an incompatibility between GTK+-3-based Nuvola Player and GTK+-2-based Flash plugin, so I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of meta-bug #1058586 to track all issued caused by the incompatibility in one place.

Could you follow instructions at bug #1058586 and help with testing of a development branch that should address this issue?
