Hi Sambler

I've checked the valgrind logs, and I don't see any memory leek. Can you please try again running this command on a terminal:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib/firefox/ valgrind --log-file=liferea-valgrind.log liferea-bin

And attaching the resulting file liferea-valgring.log

Thanks
Emilio

Crash happens when changing from one Folder to another.
Crash does not happen if the option
Folders->Show the Items of a child feeds when a folder is selected
is checked.

so it is not going to be fix to ubuntu 7.04?
It seams that if 7.4 has the version of liferea 1.2.10 and it is bugy it have to be remplace, or not?

Subscribing ubuntu-sru:

This bug is causing a crash in Liferea when you change from one folder to another one.
It's been fixed in the upstream tree for some weeks, and it works fine (also it's fixed in Gutsy).

The fix is a one-line-change, which is in:
http://liferea.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/liferea/branches/liferea-1_2/liferea/src/itemlist.c?r1=2971&r2=3039

I've made a debdiff for this, which I'm attaching to the report.

Is it ok to upload this to -proposed, so the reporters can test it?

Hello,

A testing version of liferea has landed in dapper-proposed. To test,
please add:

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ feisty-proposed main

to your sources.list(5). Then, update and upgrade (or install) liferea.

Please, report here whether it fixes the crash reported on this bug or not.

Thanks
Emilio

I have check the sources.list and I have the proposed repository. If there was some change I'll tell you.

I tried to do a sru verfication for this today, but I had no success in reproducing the initial bug.

I installed liferea 1.2.10c-0ubuntu1 and changed various folders. I experienced no crash. Can someone please give me a hint what I have to do to reproduce the crash? Once I managed this, I will be happy to set it to verificiaton-done and move it to feisty-updates.

Thanks,
 Michael

Hi Michael,

Just open liferea, then go to a folder, and then go to the another one. Then liferea will crash.

I verified the problem by:
1. opening liferea
2. *not* going to any item but clicking on a folder
3. then going to a different folder
-> crash

after install the update the crash does no longer happen.
